Parkway Christian School is seeking an English language arts teacher who is positive, authentic, motivator, trustworthy, humble, strives for excellence, respectful, and plans for success.
Required Qualifications: Must have a Bachelor or Master’s degree from an accredited university.
Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Must be able to develop and implement comprehensive language based lessons that focus on the development of student reading, writing, speaking and listening skills through various literary texts.
Must be able to create and deliver lessons that foster critical thinking and analysis skills to align with curriculum standards and assess students progression on a regular basis.
Exemplify the embodiment of Christian ideals by treating all other staff members, children and parents with respect.
Maintain written and oral communication with parents regarding student progress, as well as a minimum of two conferences.
Establishes a classroom management system that maintains appropriate discipline and creates a positive and safe learning environment in which students are actively engaged in learning, social interaction, cooperative learning, and self-motivation.
Must be able to meet each student’s culture, learning styles, special needs, and socio-economic backgrounds through appropriate instructional strategies and materials
Must have an understanding of learning and human development to provide a positive learning environment which supports the intellectual, personal, and social development of all students.
