Greetings Families,
I am so excited to announce all the upcoming Kindness Week events.
As a way to give back to the school and share love for others, the 5th grade will be completing service and kindness projects the week of Valentine’s day starting on Monday, February 10th. My heart is that your children experience the blessing that comes from focusing more on giving love than on receiving it this Valentine’s Day season.
Donations:
1) I do need help to make this happen. I am asking for all families to donate $10 to help pay for supplies go towards the Maintenance team, our buddies, and other activities. Anything left over will be used to make goodie bags for our buddies.
2) More information follows, but I am also asking a few families to be extra generous and donate food to support the maintenance team at the school.
3) Lastly, kids should bring in a sealed box/bag of candy so we can make candy salad with our buddies.Monday 2/10 – Love those who serve us
The maintenance crew often gets forgotten – let’s change that. We are going to set up a nice breakfast station for the maintenance team to enjoy on Monday, February 10th. I am even getting custom coffee tumblers made to really help them feel the love. Please help make this happen by signing up to bring in one of the following items on that Monday morning when you drop off your child. Tuesday 2/11 – Love our neighbors
To get ready for the acts of kindness throughout the rest of the week, this will be our work day. Supplies purchased from the donations will be used to make gifts and cards for our buddies and others.
Wednesday 2/12 – Love God
We will pass out our Kindness Cards and spend time giving God our attention and affection through reflection and poetic writing.
Thursday 2/13 – Love our school
We will hang out with our buddies, give them their gifts, and play some games. We will also serve our buddies’ teachers with supplies being purchased with the donations.
Saturday 2/15 – Love His creation
From 9 to 11am, we will partner with Hands On South Florida and head to Hugh Taylor Birch State Park in Fort Lauderdale for a beach clean up. All students must be accompanied with an adult.
