Diploma Tracts that include an AA
Happy Friday!
We are just entering the world of Dual Enrollment for our students and trying to make some changes to our current Diploma Tracks. Does anyone have a track that includes attaining an AA as a part of the Track? (that is a new to me concept that I’ve heard twice in the last couple of days) The danger that we are seeing is meeting all of the high school requirements before completing the AA and thus “forcing” a graduation before they are ready. Any advice, or resources would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Rachel, I spoke with a counselor and here is a response and some questions they have for you:
The pursuit to obtain a an AA requires that HS align with a college.
Is the HS able to balance both?
What is the HS desired outcome?
Are parents driving the AA bus? Parent influence can be very toxic.
We approach DE with an enriching experience.
DE via community college does not replace our HS credits.
