Music Teacher
Pay: $46,000.00 – $50,000.00 per year
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Head of School and the Pastor of the Church, the Teacher will plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students in music class, as well as teach a children’s choir after school. The work week will be flexed in order to accommodate the church choirs. Position reports to Head of School.
Minimum Qualifications:
● Earned Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education or Elementary Education.
● Holds a current Florida Professional Educator License (Teaching Certificate) with appropriate endorsement(s) or holds a Teaching Certificate from another state and is applying in Florida.
● A faith and musical background.
● Understanding and experience with preschool and elementary age students.
● Display effective communication skills (written and oral).
● Experience with planning and leading a children’s and a youth church choir.
● Able to adjust daily schedule to accommodate for choir performances in church every month
Essential Job Skills:
The successful candidate will perform the following duties, and others not listed.
● Supervise students in a variety of school settings
● Teach content and skills utilizing the Florida Performance Standards
● Teach music to PK3 – 5th grade students
● Ability to integrate music and music appreciation into all core subject areas
● Modify instructional plans and materials to meet individual student needs
● Maintain accurate, efficient, and effective records for instructional and non-instructional purposes
● Attend and participate in staff meetings
● Other duties as assigned
