Position Summary
Broward Christian Academy is seeking a dedicated and Christ-centered First Grade Teacher to join our Elementary team. The First Grade Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction using the school-provided curriculum while creating a structured, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment that supports the academic and spiritual development of each student.

The ideal candidate is passionate about Christian education, demonstrates strong classroom management and communication skills, and is committed to helping young learners build a strong academic foundation.

Essential Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons using BCA’s provided curriculum and instructional resources.

Submit lesson plans in accordance with established school timelines and expectations.
Integrate a biblical worldview throughout instruction and classroom activities.
Maintain a safe, organized, Christ-centered classroom environment that promotes learning, respect, and positive student behavior.
Differentiate instruction and provide appropriate academic support based on student needs.
Administer required school assessments and student testing in accordance with established procedures and testing schedules.
Monitor student progress and use assessment results to guide instruction.
Maintain accurate and timely records, including grades, attendance, assessment results, and relevant parent communication.
Prepare and distribute progress reports and report cards according to the school calendar.
Conduct quarterly parent-teacher conferences and maintain regular, professional communication with families regarding student progress.
Participate in weekly staff meetings, professional development, school events, chapel, and other required school activities.
Participate in the school’s formal and informal teacher evaluation process.
Assist with student supervision, arrival and dismissal, car line, transitions, and other assigned school responsibilities.
Collaborate with administration, faculty, and support staff to promote student success and support the overall mission of BCA.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.
Degree in Elementary Education, Education, or a related field preferred.
Previous elementary classroom teaching experience preferred.
Knowledge of early elementary instruction, classroom management, and child development.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to effectively plan, organize, assess, and document student learning.
Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, faculty, families, and support staff.
