Position Summary
Broward Christian Academy is seeking dependable, caring, and Christ-centered Preschool Substitute Teachers to provide classroom coverage as needed.

The Preschool Substitute Teacher supports the continuity of our preschool program by following established classroom routines, lesson plans, and daily schedules while maintaining a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for young children.

Substitute teachers may be assigned to different preschool classrooms based on staffing needs and should be comfortable working with children of varying preschool ages.

Essential Responsibilities

Provide appropriate supervision and care for students throughout the assigned school day.
Follow teacher-prepared lesson plans, classroom routines, and established daily schedules.
Lead and assist with developmentally appropriate learning activities, play, transitions, meals, rest periods, and outdoor activities.
Maintain a safe, organized, nurturing, and Christ-centered classroom environment.
Follow established classroom management and positive behavior guidance practices.
Maintain required student-to-staff ratios and active supervision in accordance with school and licensing requirements.
Assist children with age-appropriate personal care and hygiene needs as required by the assigned classroom.
Follow all health, sanitation, child safety, and emergency procedures.
Communicate student injuries, behavioral concerns, unusual incidents, or other important information promptly to preschool administration.
Maintain confidentiality regarding students and families.
Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other preschool staff.
Perform other duties consistent with the responsibilities of the position and the operational needs of the Preschool program.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience working with young children preferred.
Ability to provide patient, attentive, and developmentally appropriate care and supervision.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Dependable, flexible, and able to adapt to different classrooms, age groups, and daily schedules.
Ability to meet applicable Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) requirements for preschool personnel.
Ability to complete required background screening, training, and other employment requirements.
