Middle School Science Teacher (Grades 6–8)

Heartland Christian Academy is seeking a qualified and student-focused Middle School Science Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This position includes teaching science courses for grades 6–8 through a combination of direct instruction, curriculum-based resources, laboratory experiences, hands-on investigations, and technology-enhanced learning opportunities.

The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity, foster critical thinking, and help students develop a strong understanding of scientific concepts through inquiry, exploration, and real-world applications. Responsibilities include planning engaging lessons, monitoring student progress, maintaining accurate records, communicating with families, and collaborating with colleagues to support student success.

In addition to science instruction, the teacher may have opportunities to facilitate exploratory learning sessions, STEM activities, electives, or enrichment courses that align with their interests and expertise. These experiences emphasize hands-on learning, discussion, collaboration, problem-solving, and project-based learning.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field
• Teaching experience preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to facilitate laboratory and hands-on learning experiences
• Ability to utilize educational technology and online learning platforms
• Ability to support students with varying academic needs
