Qualifications

• The ideal candidate is dependable, flexible, collaborative, and committed to supporting student learning and character development.
• Bachelor’s degree or at least 60 college credit hours preferred; Associate Degree required (based on school requirements)
• Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred
• Florida teaching certification is welcomed but not required for substitute positions
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow lesson plans and adapt to different classroom environments
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and Christ-centered learning environment
• Successful completion of all required background screening and employment eligibility requirements

Responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans and instructional activities provided by the classroom teacher.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and positive classroom environment that supports student learning.
• Supervise students throughout the school day, including during transitions, lunch, recess, and other assigned duties.
• Encourage student engagement while promoting respect, responsibility, and positive behavior.
• Adapt instruction as needed to meet the needs of students while maintaining continuity of learning.
• Communicate effectively with school administrators, teachers, and staff regarding classroom activities and any student concerns.
• Complete attendance, classroom records, and other required documentation.
• Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Parkway Christian School while serving as a positive Christian role model.
• Participate in school procedures and follow all campus policies and expectations during assignments.
