Music Teacher (PreK–8th Grade)
Position Summary
The Music Teacher is responsible for providing Christ-centered music instruction to students in Pre-K through 8th Grade while fostering spiritual growth, creativity, musical appreciation, and Christian character development. The teacher will create an engaging learning environment that encourages students to develop their musical abilities, explore artistic expression, and use their talents to glorify God.
The Music Teacher is expected to integrate faith into all aspects of instruction while partnering with parents, faculty, and administration to support the mission of Gladeview Christian School. Through classroom instruction, performances, worship opportunities, and special programs, the Music Teacher will help cultivate a love for music and an appreciation for God’s gift of creativity.

Essential Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum
Teach music classes for students in Pre-K through 8th Grade
Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate music lessons aligned with school objectives and educational standards
Introduce students to music theory, rhythm, melody, harmony, notation, vocal techniques, instrumental concepts, and music appreciation
Foster creativity, self-expression, and confidence through music education
Integrate biblical principles and Christian values throughout instruction
Expose students to a variety of musical styles, genres, and cultural influences while maintaining alignment with the school’s mission and values
Utilize a variety of instructional methods, technology, and hands-on learning experiences
Assess student growth and participation through performances, projects, classroom activities, and evaluations
Maintain accurate grades, records, and lesson plans
Worship & Performance Leadership
Coordinate and prepare students for school performances, concerts, chapel presentations, holiday programs, and special events
Assist with music selection and preparation for school chapel services as needed
Encourage students to use their musical gifts as an act of worship and service to God
Collaborate with administration and faculty to support school-wide programs and celebrations
Develop opportunities for students to showcase their musical talents and achievements
School & Community Involvement
Participate in chapel services, spiritual emphasis activities, and school ministries
Support extracurricular programs, performances, and special events
Demonstrate a positive and cooperative attitude within the school community
Assist with school productions and programs as assigned
Perform additional duties as assigned by administration
Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music, Education, or a related field required
Florida teaching certification or eligibility preferred
Previous teaching experience with elementary and/or middle school students preferred
Strong knowledge of music theory, vocal instruction, music appreciation, and performance techniques
Ability to direct and organize student performances and musical presentations
Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to integrate faith and learning throughout instruction
Proficiency with educational technology and music-related instructional tools
Demonstrated musical proficiency in vocal and/or instrumental performance
