Position Summary
The Physical Education Teacher & Athletic Director is responsible for providing Christ-centered physical education instruction while leading and overseeing the school’s athletic programs. This individual will foster physical fitness, sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and Christian character development among students while promoting a culture of excellence that honors God both in the classroom and through athletics.
The Physical Education Teacher & Athletic Director will create an environment that encourages students to develop healthy lifestyles, strong character, discipline, and a biblical understanding of competition and stewardship of the body. The individual will work collaboratively with students, parents, faculty, coaches, and administration to support the mission of Gladeview Christian School.

Essential Responsibilities
Physical Education Instruction
Teach Physical Education classes for elementary and middle school students
Develop and implement engaging lessons that promote physical fitness, health, sportsmanship, teamwork, and lifelong wellness
Provide instruction in a variety of individual and team sports, physical activities, and fitness concepts
Create a safe, organized, and positive learning environment
Assess student participation, skill development, and progress
Encourage healthy habits and physical activity among students
Integrate biblical principles and Christian character development into physical education instruction
Maintain accurate records, lesson plans, and student evaluations
Ensure proper use, maintenance, and organization of athletic equipment and facilities
Athletic Director Responsibilities
Provide leadership, vision, and oversight for all athletic programs and teams
Coordinate and supervise school athletic programs, practices, competitions, and events
Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate coaches in alignment with the school’s mission and values
Develop and enforce athletic policies, procedures, and expectations
Schedule games, tournaments, practices, transportation, and athletic events
Serve as the primary liaison between the school and athletic leagues, officials, opposing schools, and athletic organizations
Ensure compliance with league regulations, school policies, and safety standards
Oversee athletic budgets, equipment inventory, uniforms, and facility usage
Promote sportsmanship, character development, and Christian leadership among student-athletes
Support the development and growth of athletic programs at all grade levels
Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field required
Florida teaching certification or eligibility preferred
Previous teaching and/or athletic administration experience preferred
Coaching experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of physical education curriculum, athletic program management, and student development
Strong organizational, leadership, and supervisory skills
Ability to manage multiple athletic programs and events simultaneously
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to build relationships with students, families, coaches, and staff
Proficiency with educational technology and athletic management systems

This position operates within a Christian school environment serving students in Pre-K through 8th Grade. The Physical Education Teacher & Athletic Director is expected to contribute to a culture of academic excellence, athletic achievement, spiritual growth, and Christ-centered community while consistently modeling Christian values in all interactions.
