4th Grade Elementary Teacher (Departmentalized Language Arts & History)

Position Summary
The 4th Grade Elementary Teacher (Departmentalized Language Arts & History) is responsible for providing Christ-centered, academically rigorous instruction in Language Arts and History while fostering spiritual growth, academic engagement, and Christian character development. The teacher will create a learning environment that encourages students to develop strong literacy skills, think critically, appreciate history through a biblical worldview, and cultivate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

The 4th Grade Elementary Teacher is expected to integrate faith into all aspects of teaching and discipleship while partnering with parents, faculty, and administration to support the mission of Gladeview Christian School. All offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and drug screening.

Essential Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum
Teach 4th Grade Language Arts and History courses utilizing approved curriculum and instructional resources
Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with state standards and school expectations
Foster strong reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, communication, and critical-thinking skills
Teach history through a biblical worldview, helping students understand the influence of faith, culture, and historical events
Integrate biblical truth and Christian principles throughout all subject matter
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of students
Utilize a variety of instructional methods, educational technology, and hands-on learning experiences
Assess student progress through assignments, projects, presentations, quizzes, tests, and classroom participation
Maintain accurate grades, attendance records, lesson plans, and student documentation
Encourage a love of learning, curiosity, and academic excellence

Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field required
Florida teaching certification or eligibility preferred
Previous elementary teaching experience preferred
Strong knowledge of Language Arts and History curriculum and instructional practices
Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to integrate faith and learning across all aspects of instruction
Proficiency with educational technology and classroom management systems
Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
Commitment to academic excellence and lifelong learning

Work Environment
This position operates within a Christian school environment serving students in Pre-K through 8th Grade. The 4th Grade Elementary Teacher is expected to contribute to a culture of academic excellence, spiritual growth, and Christ-centered community while consistently modeling Christian values in all interactions.
