Secondary Mathematics Teacher (Grades 7–12)
Heartland Christian Academy is seeking a qualified and student-focused Secondary Mathematics Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This position includes teaching middle and high school mathematics courses through a combination of direct instruction, online learning platforms, and curriculum-based resources. The teacher will support students in developing strong mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills while providing individualized academic support.
Responsibilities include facilitating learning through established mathematics programs, monitoring student progress and mastery, maintaining accurate records, providing intervention when needed, communicating with families, and collaborating with colleagues to support student success. The teacher will guide students through both traditional and technology-enhanced learning experiences while fostering academic confidence and independence.
In addition to mathematics instruction, the teacher may have opportunities to facilitate exploratory learning sessions, electives, or enrichment courses that align with their interests and expertise. These courses are designed to promote student engagement through hands-on learning, discussion, collaboration, project-based experiences, and real-world applications that extend beyond the traditional classroom.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field
- Teaching experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to utilize educational technology and online learning platforms including Google suite
- Ability to support students with varying academic needs
- Ability to facilitate engaging, student-centered learning experience
- Commitment to the mission and values of Heartland Christian Academy
This position may include a combination of middle school and high school mathematics courses and utilizes a blend of textbook-based curriculum, online instructional programs, teacher-facilitated learning experiences, and exploratory electives designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
